Traditional
Medicine is making a strong comeback, especially amongst
the younger generation who are increasingly viewing
it as complementary to Western medicine.
Against the
backdrop of this burgeoning industry, Singapore
will play host to the second Traditional Medicine
Expo this year. Following the success of last year’s
inaugural event which featured 90 exhibitors and
close to 7,181 local and foreign trade visitors,
TMExpo 2010 looks set to reprise its instrumental
role in accelerating the modernization of Traditional
Medicine and strengthening regional cooperation.
TMExpo 2010 will also play an integral role in educating
consumers and cultivating their interest in Traditional
Medicine.
The strong support
we received from various organisations including
government bodies such as International Enterprise
Singapore, Ministry of Health, SPRING Singapore
and the Singapore Tourism Board as well as our sponsors
was instrumental in the success of last year’s event.
I hence look forward to the continued support of
these organisations once again this year.
With the exciting
line-up of activities planned including several
new elements such as the Marketing Trends Workshops
and the Innovation Seminars, I am confident that
we will see both familiar faces as well as new exhibitors
and visitors at Traditional Medicine Expo 2010.
I look forward to meeting all of you at the event.
Mr. David S. C. Tang
Chairman
Singapore TCM Organisations Committee
